This place was recommended to us on a business trip and it's one of the best meals we have had on all of our travels. The brussel sprouts were the best we've had anywhere (and we tend to eat a lot of brussel sprouts). The atmosphere was a little more upscale than your typical restaurant and the menu selection was great (aka we wouldn't bring our kids along).
This is a great place to enjoy locally grown food deliciously prepared. We started with a Vanilla Beer that was like a stout, with a bit of vanilla. Served as it would be in Europe, chilled not cold. Then the daily soup and beet salad - excellent. The special was a well prepared halibut with veggies. The other dish was one of the best pot roasts I've ever had-also served with veggies. For dessert, coffee and the ice cream/lemon cookies (shared). The service was very good and the decor relaxing. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it.
Had wonderful conversations with the waiters, and had one of the best burgers I've had. Absolutely scrumptious. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall, so you wouldn't expect much from it, but it really is nice. Great experience.
Feels nicer than a strip mall restaurant. Good job with the ambiance and decor. We called ahead to see if they were busy and we were told really open. Within 15 minutes we arrived and sure enough there were at least 7 open tables almost all in the same room. The host told us it would be a 10 minute wait. I had thought maybe there would be people coming in with reservations for these tables, but after waiting the 10 to 15 minutes, no one showed. In fact, several of these tables stayed open the whole time we were there. Maybe they had to reassign wait staff before seating us or something but it was odd. The waiter gave a great wine suggestion and we ordered the roasted carrot app and the baked Brie app too. Love the farm to table concept and the food showed it's great flavors. The chicken sandwich was delicious! The salmon very nice and the pressed chicken great too. The service sort of slowed down as the meal progressed and the waiter went MIA for a bit. I am guessing maybe they were short that night. I would go back as the food was really good and the menu creatively matches up foods.
American Harvest Eatery is our family's favorite restaurant in Springfield. The food is always delicious and interesting - they use the very best ingredients and know how to make it taste wonderful. We love the staff and always look forward to their Sunday Brunch, especially! My mom and dad always go here for their date nights, but I really like it when they take me and my brothers too. They make every vegetable absolutely delicious!
