An occasional customer for years. Used to work for the old man here back in the day... Strictly business and a real great guy to work for. It's a very traditional style pizza. Hand pressed dough, cooked HOT and FAST (475 degrees if I remember right) in a slate oven, sliding on a toasted smattering of corn meal... Crust, ever so slightly scorched. All toppings under cheese and made with fresh sausage, the way pizza was intended. It remains one of only two places I'll ever order a pizza from.
My wife and I are in town for an event and we ordered Gallina's for delivery. Our ordering and delivery experience was fine. We got our food back to our room and... I have no idea what the deal with the cheese sticks was, but they were virtually inedible. They were not crisp, the batter had a weird flavor, and they were lukewarm at best - not possibly fried, and unlikely baked... microwaved perhaps?
The pizza was actually pretty good. I underestimated how big the large size was, but that's a good problem I suppose. Gallina was generous with the toppings and cheese, but if anything a bit light on the sauce (even for my taste). Perhaps ask for some extra sauce if you prefer a heavier-sauced pizza as my wife does.
I'm not sure if the cheese sticks were just a fluke.. but I'd eat here again!
Great food! I love the garlic bread and pizza!
This restaurant was fantastic! It was truly authentic, run by real Italians. And the food was great. The restaurant was well decorated as well. And the prices were very affordable. I would suggest going here, as a family or as a romantic date.
