I can't think of a better BBQ place in the Metro East area. I've tried everything on the menu and all of it is amazing. I love the live camera on the meat being cut. Try the Albert Einswine, it is life changing. Dirty ribs are unbelievable as well. Worth the drive to New Baden.
I have eaten at this location a couple times. To be honest, I prefer the one in Mt. Vernon. The first time here, I got the "Smoke Monster" without a bun and a couple sides. The pulled pork was good, but the brisket was very fatty.
I was really excited the second visit because they had burnt ends available (not a regular menu item). They were mediocre at best. Meat was ok, but they were cold and absolutely swimming in sauce.
Good menu, just poor execution.
Best brisket I've ever had in my life! I'll be back soon AND will remember to take photos. Friendly and helpful staff. VERY reasonable prices!
Awesome, that is it in a nutshell. My brother and I were traveling cross country and found this fine establishment. We went in to grab some food to go and we were received with welcoming friendliness. It was a Thursday evening and it was not crowded due to a big local game going on somewhere close. We got a rack of ribs and a pound of brisket. The ribs had perfect chew and the brisket couldnt have been better. The girl at the counter made sure we had enough napkins and loaded us up with all their different sauces. She comped us a soft drink as we waited which ended up being just a matter of minutes. Apparently they cut the brisket only when ordered. This place should definitely be on your list if your in the area.
Visited for the first time today. The staff was nice. The service was fast. The food was okay. The pulled pork had good flavor....but really big pieces....more like chunks than pulled. The wings were good. Brisket was mostly fat and very dry. Quarter chicken was extremely dry. Pork rinds were awesome. Slaw, cornbread, and loaded potato salad were awesome too. The biggest hang up I had was the cleanliness of the place. We sat near a window...after cleaning off the table ourselves...and the window and sill were absolutely disgusting. Dead bugs, cobwebs, and dirt. The condiment area was dirty and a complete mess. Table outside were so grimy that there was no way we were sitting out there. This place could use a good deep cleaning and some TLC.
