Ernie's Family Restaurant

I've never been disappointed at this establishment. It's a blast from the past - oldies music playing in the background, waitresses with big hair, older gentlemen drinking coffee and sharing 'back in our day' stories, and families herding in after church on Sundays. It's a classic Midwestern local greasy spoon, from the comfort food to the decor..

My sister & I went to Ernie's for lunch. I had a ham steak (16 oz), mashed potatoes & corn. The food was hot & very good. The ham was thick and looked like a center cut, it actually hung over the sides of the plate. It was so good! I brought home enough for another 2 meals. The waitress was courteous & attentive. The restaurant was clean.

We love this place until our last visit. The gravy had way to much seasoning in it and the only person offered refills was the coffee drinker the rest of us sat there with empty glasses and thinking what has happen to our favorite place to have breakfast. We don't get out often and it was sad that when we went this time it was for my son's birthday and it was our worse trip there ever. I'll be seeking other places to get a good breakfast edible and not over seasoned. Not all of us can do over used seasonings. Thanks for ruining our breakfast on a special day.

Loved this place! I flew in from Houston, TX to visit my daughter. She has been telling me about this place and brought me here for breakfast. Food was delicious! Prices are great and staff is friendly. Can't wait until next time.

We ate here as a family and loved it! The atmosphere was inviting, the staff was friendly and the food was good. The main downfall was the parking. We had to drive around the block a couple times before we were able to find a parking spot across the street. We will definitely try eating here again.
