First and foremost, the cuisine is top notch. I tasted 2 different steaks and the short rib during my visit and was completely and overly satisfied with the quality and seasoning. The sides were all very complementary and the beverage list is quite extensive. However, during my visit, and even with reservations days ahead, I had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Better yet, there was nowhere to wait other than standing in the main aisle, getting in everyone's way. The space is on the smaller side but that's not an excuse for bad placement planning. Even if this was a rare occurance, it was still unpleasant. Ultimately, after the visit was over, the food more than made up for the waiting and standing.
Bartender was good and the drinks were good as well. Didn't get a chance to try to food but it has a great atmosphere and I'll bet the food was good.
Great food! So much flavor! Very good service. Will be back often.
Let me start out by saying that I want nothing but this place to make it. I went for my birthday as I was super excited about trying this place. First off I had 7pm reservations we were seated and from the moment we sat we felt rushed. Plates were taken away before we were even done eating. Also I ordered the surf and turf and ordered medium. My steak came out rare and they brought my entire meal back to kitchen instead of just steak. Brought it back out the same by then rest of potatoe and lobster was cold. The waitress knew it was still rare and when done asked if I would want a box to take steak home. For the price I would expect better service and properly cooked food. The 4 of us we paid $240 and I will pay this any day as long as quality and service is good. I only leave this review so they can work on improvements as I will try again and want nothing but this place to thrive. Must say though the cheese curds were good.
This new addition to downtown Joliet is a must-try. Located across the street from the library, in the spot where Tin Roof used to be, Cut 158 has a beautiful intimate dining room and excellent food. I had the spinach dip as an appetizer and it was possibly the best I've ever had. You get wonton chips with it, I'd never had that anywhere else, and they were really good. You can tell everything is freshly made for sure. For my entree I had the salmon and it was delicious!! It comes with couscous and pesto sauce, all perfectly seasoned. My date said the steak he had was great, too...the menu has plenty of cuts so if you're a steak fan you definitely need to check them out. Our server was awesome, I wanted a wine suggestion and was really pleased with her recommended glass of Chardonnay. Overall it was a great experience, I think this will be a new favorite in the area!
