    A great restaurant with a tons of history. Quick service and the Jaeger Schnitzel was phenomenal! It is truly a hidden gem of Rockford.

    Very good food and good sized portions. It was a quiet night when we went, but I see that it is a pretty small place, so if you try to go on a busy night you should be ready to wait, but the wait is worth it. Those lyonnaise potatoes are the best thing ever!

    We we're visiting from out of town and went here by recommendation of the AirBnB host. We we're glad we went! The bacon dressing on the salads was delicious, as was the house soup. We shared our dinner, the portions are large! Service was friendly and attentive. If we are back in town, we will come back!

    I've been going to der Rathskeller since sometime in the 1960's and rate their sausage platter as the best I've ever found. The atmosphere is charming and the service is pretty authentic. Good beer too.

    Loved it! Nice variety of German food and even bigger variety of German beer! Old building, been there forever. Worth the trip. Reasonably priced. Bring a group and soak in the atmosphere while listening to German folk music in the background. Festive times to be had at Der Rathskeller
