I recently tried the chicken egg rolls and beef bowl at Ryusei, and both were delightful. The egg rolls were perfectly crispy, with a savory filling that balanced flavors and textures beautifully. Each bite was satisfying, with a mix of vegetables and chicken, definitely homemade.
The beef bowl was equally impressive. The meat was tender and well-marinated, complementing the fluffy rice beneath it. Fresh vegetables added a nice crunch, and the sauce tied everything together with a savory, slightly sweet finish. Overall, both dishes were a hit and definitely worth trying again.
First time. Thought I'd try a little of everything. Pork Belly Ramen, Kimchi fries, Korean corn dog and chicken egg rolls.
The egg Pork belly was chewy. Fries were soggy and Kimchi was two clicks above cold (is it supposed to be?). The sauce tasted like Hidden Valley. The Korean corn dog was unmelted string cheese with a stick in the middle.
The Ramen broth was tasty and the egg rolls were hot and crisp.
With a near 5 star rating I expected excellent food. The fries and corn dog wouldn't sell at a carnival. Disappointed.
The counter guy was nice. Maybe I caught the restaurant on a bad day.
Absolutely phenomenal! The gentleman who took our order was so kind! He greeted us warmly and answered any and all questions. We have been looking for delicious Japanese/Korean food and this was it.
This will be our new family favorite tradition.
Corndogs were nice and crunchy with great flavor, but when I got to the bottom, the inside was had a thick raw dough. I scraped out as much as I could and still ate it. The pork bowl was bland with no sauce. Maybe it’s traditional but then they may have a selection of banchan to enhance it. I added my homemade kimchi which helped. The service was great and friendly. Also wish there was a “sauce on the side option” for their Korean fried chicken when ordering pickup because it was not as crispy by the time we got home. However, it was delicious. They just meed some tweaking. We’ll definitely be back to give it another chance.
This place is the best place to eat in Rockford. The chicken wings with the soy garlic is the best on the menu. It makes other places’ chicken inedible because you realize that chicken can be moist, juicy and crunchy at the same time.
I would happily eat here again. You should too.
