Great little diner. I had the Big Texas sandwich and fries and it was tasty with large portion. Service was reasonably quick. The restaurant was clean and tidy.
I would give the food 4 and a half stars if that were possible. I had the spaghetti special. The spaghetti was excellent, as was the meatballs, and I generally don't like meatballs. The side salad was excellent as well, with some bits of green peppers in it. The only flaw with the food was that I could not detect any garlic whatsoever in the garlic toast. A companion had the beef Manhattan, which had two big sandwiches and a generous helping of mash potatoes. Cost came to $38 for three people, so I think that's reasonable. Parking is in a lot next to the building. I thought we were given a little extra time to look at the menu, but we were the only ones in dining room when we went in, so maybe it was a slack time. Dining room was crowded when we left.
Nice little hometown Cafe. The service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant is clean and appears to have been remodeled, but feels a bit sterile. I was disappointed with my $12 BBQ burger - the patty seemed generic and un seasoned and potato chips like supermarket brand. My companion's chicken wrap and crinkle fries looked really good and she was very pleased with them. The wide variety of pies was very tempting.
Absolute gold! Scratch meals. Special was chicken and dumplings with hand rolled egg noodles! Atleast 8 different pies made fresh. Had the apple, strawberry rhubarb while there. Enjoyed them so much I took a whole coconut cream home, I live in Michigan! If you're driving by get off the freeway and enjoy some of the best food this side of the Mississippi...
