Yats Cajun Creole

5 Stars for being pretty darn good and located in Indiana.

Would I say it is exactly like Louisiana or Georgia? It is not exactly the same, but the food is good, and the variety should suit many different appetites. The bread might be the best thing they have, its a 10 out of 10 for me.

Note: They allow you to choose 1/2 and 1/2 on the main dish! I got gumbo and jambalaya, added cheese.

The gumbo is exactly as you'd expect, 9 of 10. The jambalaya was good, but the rice was just a bit gummy, still an 8 out of 10 for me.

I’ve only ever been to one other Yats and was so excited to get one in FW. Sadly, it was not as good as I remember, but it was still very enjoyable! Not sure if it’s because they just opened, but they were SUPER busy - we waited in line and for food for 30-40 minutes. Menu has a couple vegetarian options, a couple gluten free options, and a kids menu. For two meals and two drinks, I paid $29. Unfortunately, our order came out mixed up at first and both bowls had chicken. With me being a vegetarian, we went back inside and they went ahead and remade the bowl for me! Ended up enjoying the meal quite a bit, but the rice is pretty bland. I would definitely go back again, but as long as I’m in the mood for spice!

Being a new restaurant in Fort Wayne it was very busy - line out the door. Waited 30ish minutes from entering to getting food. The food was good but we ordered a bowl with all vegetarian options. They mixed up the orders and both had chicken in them. Luckily we noticed and spoke to someone about it. They were very quick to say sorry and fix the mistake. Overall I will be back but in a few months once they are settled in and hopefully not as busy.
