The Mixed Plate

As someone who was born in Hawaii and then ripped away from it when my parents moved, I was 2, it is a breath of fresh air to find a restaurant of a culture that I have missed for over 38 years. There is true Ohana at The Mixed Plate. My first visit, I didn’t even look at the menu and they knew what I meant when I asked for the greatest culinary delight to come from the islands, Moco Loco. Rice, topped with a hamburger, topped with two eggs of your choice doneness, and smothered with the best hand made gravy I have ever tasted. I was instantly transported to my Hawaiian vacay from 2 years ago and how much I missed Oahu. It is a true honor and privilege to have a taste of the pacific in a small town atmosphere. May they continue to prosper here in Indiana, and I’ll be going poor here. 🤙

Not only is their food truck my absolute favorite, but their restaurant is incredible, too! I've always loved their lunch and dinner options, but recently they also blew me away with their delicious breakfast! My veggie omelette was the best omelette I've ever had, and I am very picky!

I can honestly say I've never eaten a single thing from the Mixed Plate that I wouldn't gladly order again.

I don't know how they get their pork so tender and juicy, but it's amazing. The pork wonton tacos are unique and packed with flavor. I wish I could eat them every day.

My personal favorites are the spicy Korean beef bowl and their famous garlic chicken (my daughter's favorite!). My husband loves the beef curry stew, and we ALL love the banana lumpia - but we are always too full for dessert!

Great owners, great staff, excellent service, and amazing food! I would eat there every day, if I could!

This family owned restaurant is fantastic! You'll find wonderful "island inspired" comfort food on the menu. The ladies running this establishment make excellent food, and they serve it with a smile!

Delicious food as always! Love the food truck and so proud of them for starting a restaurant. We need more Asian and Hawaiian cuisine! So go support!!

Best food in the Wabash Valley! I love the unique twists that are put on many of their food items such as the crab Rangoon grilled cheese and the garlic chicken sandwich. I also find myself craving the island tea ALL THE TIME! Service is also fantastic, Reagan goes above and beyond whether she is on the truck or in the restaurant. I can't wait to see what new things they create next!
