The Easter buffet is amazing. Plenty to do for the whole family. Great picture areas, and plenty of shopping for anyone who appreciates the simple things in life.
This place is a great place to spend a few hours kicking back and enjoying life.
The food is amazing and the staff is very helpful and friendly like visiting grandparents or family members. Love the Peacocks in the window boxes there.
I've been to Amish Acres quite a few times and it definitely has it perks. All the actors seem to be experienced and very talented in the theater however the seating isn't my favorite. I feel with how long the theater has been open, more than just chairs would be expected. Otherwise, it's always been a pleasant experience. The reason I'm really giving this review three stars is because of a dining experience I had on a class trip. The chicken we were served was cold causing our chaperone to ask the waiter to get us a new plate his response to her was very rude. I was also a bit confused as to why all the waitresses were wearing printed prairie dresses. In my opinion if you really want to experience Nappanee's Amish culture visit and support their businesses in the country side. You can find a map at the chamber of commerce. However if your wanting to watch a play I recommend it!
We have had season tickets for several years now, but this year chose to just get tickets for the shows we want to see.
First, this years performers, especially the team that put on the show, LEND ME A TENOR, were Rib Splitting Great and spot on acting for all shows.
There are many pluses to Amish Acres and a few negatives.
The plus are that the shows rarely disappoint, the shops with cheese, fudge, plus the gift shop are fun to walk trough, sample and it is a rare day that I do not purchase something.
The main reason we stopped buying season tickets is because every year the show, Plain and Fancy, which is their signature performance is always one of the performances offered with the package. Once you have seen it more than once, it gets tiring to see it every year. I personally would like to see another option offered for those of us who do not want to see ,Plain and Fancy each year
The dinners offered, whether it be dinner with the actors or their thresher dinner, are okay. I say this because it is one big meal, no leftover bags are allowed, so if you are a party of two, you can not possibly eat all the food they serve. They have started offering two free chicken dinners with a purchase of full price tickets for the certain shows, and that is a step in the right direction of offering meals that work when there is only two of you.
Amish Acres have a yearly Art Show that is fun for all, and the food vendors have some great selections.
All year they have different events that are offered such as their New Year's Eve Gala.
We are planning on attending it this year and I hope it will be a as magical as advertised.
Best advice, look them up on their website and make the selection that you/family/friends find interesting.
