We had a great experience for dinner! Food and service were great.
Restaurant nice hotel beautiful grounds are kept up but need a slightly better selection for food at the buffet but still good bu t I need my lime beans and cauliflower soup and turkey and stuff like different salads like broccoli salad and carrot salad ect like u used to have
This is for the restaurant.
We always stop for fried chicken, if we pass this way. As we recall, the fried chicken used to taste a lot better than now. Now it is like ordinary fried chicken you can get anywhere.
The place was awesome, if I could give this place 10 stars it would be amazing. Front desk help was excellent, the room was very clean, and the place is beautiful all around. Hope to stay here again
My husband and I made a last minute weekend trip and chose the Essenhaus based on a friend's past recommendation. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly. We chose a king room, both the bedroom area and bathroom had plenty of space. The room was very clean and the decor fit the style of the Middlebury area nicely. The view of the grounds was lovely from our window. We really appreciated the small dining table in our room, we ate our breakfast there. The cookies near the front desk were delicious. The only thing we didn't like was the bed in our room, it wasn't the most comfortable to us. (Beds can be tricky to please people with.) We also appreciated that the walking paths were plowed when we took a stroll over to the beautiful covered bridge. The hot breakfast was good and had many options. I liked that the donuts were cut into quarters so I could enjoy a bit of donut with the rest of my meal. All in all we had a great experience, next time we'll try the restaurant on campus. The village shops were lovely and offered a wide variety of items.
