It's a nice outdoor experience. Food is very overrated. Don't know if anything was made to order or if it just came out of a warmer from being made the day before.
The food here is phenomenal. I realized this after reflecting on my Friday day last week, which was the day I grabbed lunch from Hull and High Water. I had a very upsetting and awful day, usually when I get really upset I just can't eat. Well, in the middle of all the negative goings on, I got home with my cod platter and I only wondered for 1 second if I could eat since I was so upset. I dug in. It's a strange combination to feel so awful yet....so satisfied. Thank you for a great lunch Hull and High Water!
Food was good, but not worth the 30+ minute wait for it after we ordered. Really cool outdoor seating area and extensive bar list. It seems like a fairly new place and they need to work out some kinks, but decent seafood for the price paid.
We have been here many times, with that being said today it just wasn't the same. We were seated promptly but waited quite some time for someone to come over. We ordered iced tea, with an emphasis on the iced part, we did not receive that. We were disappointed in the removal of the grouper from the menu, but we were still looking forward to a great po'boy! I ordered the fried chicken wishing it was grouper, it came out looking amazing... unfortunately it was quite undercooked! Our waiter came over and took the sandwich back and replaced it with the lobster bisque, which was amazing! It would have been nice to see a manager or the owner who was at the restaurant but that didn't happen. In fact we were pretty much on our own. We have always enjoyed this restaurant but we felt today was a real zero.
Amazing atmosphere and great service. Our server August was a professional and very knowledgeable of the menu and the sourcing of the menu items. My wife and I are big seafood eaters and this place is very easily the best we have had outside of southern Louisiana or northern main. We will definitely return and highly recommend them to our friends and family
