Payne's Restaurant

My husband and I stopped in today and were so pleased with the eclectic atmosphere, delicious food, and good music. Our waitress, Dorothy, was a delight! We had the fish and chips and split a James Dean's Payne at her suggestion and left very full and happy! Will be sure to come again!

I was ecstatic when I found a British Restaraunt on a day out hitting flea markets. The menus are presented inside children books! I am so disappointed I didn't get a picture. If you have never tried this cuisine, it's a must. The flavors were so completely different than what I have ever tasted and I loved it! To top it all off, the service was just as amazing as the food!

Stopped by a few days ago for a quick lunch. Was very surprised that it was a full British restaurant in the middle of Indiana, go figure. Anyway, we ordered the fish and chips. And it was DELICIOUS! Had the large order with the 10oz fish. It was awesome. Fish was fried perfectly, very crispy and tasty. Chips AKA fries were good as well. Food was hot and fresh. Talk about a pleasant surprise getting off the interstate.

Had yet another amazing experience at Payne’s today! Our waitress, Dorothy, was very sweet and knowledgeable! The food was scrumptious and even though I was full (and had some to take home) Dorothy talked us into dessert. I’m SO glad she did! The rhubarb crumble and the sticky toffee pudding were to die for! Dorothy even threw in some James Dean facts. She knows her stuff! I highly recommend Payne’s!

We have always made comments about wanting to try Payne's when we go to Indy. We finally tried it tonight and we will definitely be back. The bangers were amazing! I almost stole my husband's entire meal of it. I really appreciated how almost every staff member did something to help keep us satisfied by clearing dishes, filling water, and checking on our meals. It is small but has a great atmosphere. Everything was perfect!
