The facility itself is very nice and appealing. The music was too loud due mostly to the structure itself with the high ceilings. Food was just okay, definitely overpriced. The Country Fried Pork Tenderloin at $18 wasn’t worth the price. No side leaving me still hungry when I left. The other two in the party did say the Miller Farm’s Chicken was good. If you are looking for something other than bourbon or whiskey, it’s not the place for you. Minimal beer selection, all from Sunking. Many more better local breweries, a few just down the street from The Mash House. The West Fork signature bourbon flight was enjoyable. Service was a letdown. While the server was friendly, she was less than attentive. Dirty dishes and glassware remained on the table for the entire stay. With her training a new server, I’d think she’d do better at setting the example. I was overcharged $11 for a drink I didn’t order. She took out $11 in cash and gave it to me instead of having the charge removed and my credit card adjusted. Since I had already paid, I didn’t catch it until after. While she reimbursed me the $11, she didn’t reimburse for the tax and 22% gratuity. Someone made Ann additional $3.50. My mistake was not requiring her to get it adjusted. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with my experience.
Exceptional food and exceptional service. Favorites include - the grilled romaine (full of flavor), plated tenderloin (elevated take on the traditional Hoosier tenderloin), burger (truly the best I have ever had), corn pudding (have ordered every time I’ve been), and the veggie wrap add chick n (if craving something lighter and healthier, but the veggies are hardy and they actually fill the wrap). I cannot say enough glowing things about this spot. Thrilled to have this as part of the Indy food scene to visit time and time again!
Heard good things and wanted to check this place out! We were very impressed! We had the bbq pork tips for an app and it was delicious but not what we expected at all.
The menu doesn’t mention any veggies or garnishes, but as you can see it has cilantro, pickled onions, and Fresno chilis. The menu also vaguely says it comes with a bbq dipper so we expected a regular red bbq, but apparently it just comes over the white bbq. We loved this, but could see some people not being happy.
The bologna sandwich was just outstanding. The pimento cheese was so good. I loved that the sandwich had chips on it as well. Really delicious sandwich.
The peach sticky pudding was pretty good, but the only peach we could taste was just the two slices of peaches on top. Besides that it was pretty much just a bread pudding. Good, but nothing that special.
Overall we really liked the restaurant and would go back again. Drinks were excellent and Jen was friendly and gave us great service.
What a great new addition to the Indy food and drink scene! We had dinner at The Mash House and the menu had something for everyone, we thought the Indiana theme on a lot of the items was cool. Drinks were outstanding. Looking forward to going back and checking out the cocktail lounge.
It was really good! The food was delicious (husband had bison chili which was very flavorful & spicy. I had sliders, which were incredible juicy and yummy). The atmosphere was a whole vibe - loved the separate bar area. Definitely will go back. But, it was a bit pricey. The drinks were delicious, I mean so good. But not very strong (ours were from the separate bar area). So if I’m paying $14 for a cocktail, I want a damn good buzz. I ordered 3 different drinks and every single one was fabulous, just wish they were stronger for the price.
