We had the combo platter which feeds two with the pork, brisket and ribs. The meat was smoked to perfection - very flavorful even without sauce! The Broccoli slaw was amazing - best we’ve ever had. The Cole slaw and Texas Toast were good too. French fries were ok; we’ll try the Mac and Cheese next time. If you are looking for a fancy meal out, Trax BBQ is not for you. You order from the counter and then eat on long tables complete with cards and other games in what is basically a warehouse (very clean) connected to a brewery where you can get a beer to drink with your dinner. Take-out is also available. The food is absolutely delicious! We need to support this new McCordsville off the beaten path restaurant in being successful! They deserve it!
I have not had BBQ this good since I lived down south. I've spent time in North Carolina and Georgia and this easily competes. What's better is it's connected to the best microbrewery in the dang county. Super friendly people. Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Rustic, warehouse feel. Cannot go wrong.
Trax graciously hosted our Torch Co. BYB watching party for the Indy Eleven game. The service and food were phenomenal! We will definitely be returning.
The pulled pork, Mac and cheese, and bread we're good. Not guite great or best ever but above average. Good enough for a return trip.
We wanted to love it.
Unfortunately, we went for ribs which they we're out of at 6:50 on a Saturday evening. Service for a platter to go was pretty slow (15 minutes) and the sit down experience would have been mostly some plastic folding tables.
So, they've only opened a month ago. It seems they're not quite ready for prime time need to get a handle on staff, food needs, and maybe some tables. We'll give it another try in a couple of months and see if they're on track.
This new BBQ place is fantastic! They're new, so still getting some things figured out,but the food is amazing! They offer pulled pork, chicken, brisket, ribs, tacos, burgers and all kinds of sides. They're located in the same building as Scarlet Lane Brewing, so you can walk over and get a beer or bring your BBQ to the brewery. Right now they have a lunch special for $9 - 1/4 chicken or sandwich (pulled pork or burger), coleslaw, chips and drink. The staff is friendly and they have several mustard (Carolina) based sauces to choose from, although the meat is so good, sauce isn't needed.
