3 Agaves Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

Excellent food and service! We come here often. They have amazing Street Tacos!

First time I have visited, but the 99¢ taco Tuesday deal seemed like the perfect time to see how much it has changed since the management changed.

The food was pretty much the same as before. The service was pretty much the same too. The interior looks a lot better and you could tell it wasn't finished because someone was painting while we were there.

As a frequent customer of the old Rancho Grande, I was interested to see what kind of changes the new ownership made. Now that they've been open a while, the verdict is in.

THE GOOD:
-Most of the excellent waitstaff from Rancho Grande was kept by the new ownership, so the service is still great.
-The food is still great, but expect that your favorites from Rancho Grande might not be on the new menu (or in the spot where you expect to see it).
-The remodel. What a night and day difference! The entire restaurant appears larger and brighter and feels less cramped since they knocked down all the walls.
-Pricing is about the same in most cases on the 3 Agaves menu compared to their Rancho Grande equivalents. In some cases, they're slightly cheaper.

THE BAD:
-It's tucked away on the menu in a spot where you might not see it, but 3 Agaves adds $2 to your bill if you have more than one basket of chips or one bowl of salsa. Whereas Rancho Grande would bring more chips and salsa without you having to ask, 3 Agaves makes you ask so they can add on the extra charge. Part of me understands why they do this, but they're the only Mexican restaurant I've ever visited that had this policy. I hope they'll eventually reconsider.

Overall, I'm impressed with the new ownership so far and the lack of major changes they've made. As long as they keep things that way, I'll keep coming back.

We had to check out 3 agaves since it just opened and we were extremely happy with our experience. The food was great but the margaritas were even better! We will definitely be coming back for more margaritas and street tacos.
