Really good food. And service
The Bad: Small place, limited seating. Not the best parking nor the cleanest diner. Some patrons will loiter, hanging out just drinking coffee for hours hogging up limited tables, at times being very loud. Prices are up there with many of the more expensive diners.
The good: Classic small diner atmosphere. Good food. I enjoy the breakfast, they make fried potatoes which many places these days only serve hash browns. I think they may deep fry their potatoes but however they are made, they remind me of a long gone place in Muncie back in the 80's called The Big Apple as the breakfast is very similar. Plenty filling, good light/medium roast coffee of unknown brand. Table space reasonable (not too small)
Observations: The waitress always appears over worked and in a hurry. One day I witnessed the waitress actually fall down, slipping on some spilled beverage because she was trying to walk too fast. Other times She is at a dead sprint so expect to not always get your coffee refilled when you want. The wait times for food delivery is typical of many busy diners. However just sitting down it's often a long wait just to have order taken. It's seat yourself so if it's busy, there isn't much room to wait. Space between tables and walkways is tight.
Outstanding old school diner. Eggs and bacon were perfect. I will make this place a priority stop when I’m traveling through New Castle. Great cook and server.
EDIT: four words: Cecil is no more. Just not the same. (prior review): Great small-town diner with a homey feel. only place in town to get REAL spicy food (blazing philly), good food, good people, good value, good times. check them out!
Hidden gem. Lived in town my whole life and didn’t even know this existed. Had it for the first time today and loved it. Great food.
