Azul Tequila Mexican Restaurant

We have been looking for a more authentic Mexican food in the greenwood area and this place did not disappoint! Excuse the photos we could NOT wait to dig in! Everything was fresh and delicious. Agua frescas had the perfect balance of sweetness. The sauce on the molcajete was top tier! Presentation was also better than we could have expected!

My wife and I had a gift card for this restaurant and decided to use it on a weeknight. I'm glad we had the card because if we had paid full price, we would have been even more disappointed.
We arrived and it was not busy whatsoever. We were seated immediately, and the bartender/ server came over within a minute or so. He came back with our waters and took our appetizer order - we got the fajita nachos and some cheese dip. He returned a bit later and took our main order - my wife got the Enchiladas Azul, and I got the Burrito Ranchero.
While the nachos were good, they were a bit under seasoned and VERY salad-y, having a TON of lettuce and other salad type of toppings. They were rather underwhelming. The cheese was good, but it is difficult to screw up liquid cheese.
The entrées came out shortly after and were kind of bland. The enchiladas were okay at best and the beans and rice were very bland. My burrito was okay as well, but still bland.
Overall, the true winner of the evening was the server/ service. He was attentive and nice, but there were only three tables at the time, so I would expect that level of service.
To be frank, I would have to change my name. That said, if we were looking for a Mexican restaurant on 135, we will go somewhere else. This place was decent, but not great and memorable for the wrong reasons.

We ordered queso sauce, then a shrimp and chicken fajita and enchiladas verde. The chips and salsa was delicious, light, crispy and warm chips with salsa that was tasty with a slight kick. The food was served very hot and everything was delicious. Most of all, our service was excellent.
