Whiskey River BBQ

The service was wonderful. We were taken care of quickly and our food came out fast. There are three choices for barbecue sauces and we mixed all of them together. The shredded pork in the Moo Oink dish was moist and tasty. The beef brisket was a little dry but still enjoyed it. The French union sooo which was a side was full of flavor. They have generous portions of food. Its definitely not the best I've ever had, but wasn't bad for a quick bite. There are signs on the doors and when you walk in stating there is a 4% up charge for using a credit card, so don't be surprised. The decor is dated and the place seemed to have a lot of locals dining there.

This is a backwoods type bar and grill. They have a great little menu to cover meals for a reasonable price. Service was outstanding. Comfortable place to eat.

I've came by here many times wondering if Whiskey River was open or closed. Let me guarantee you they are definitely open and according to Stephanie, our waitress, an employee of 15 years, it's open all but three days a year. Their chef has also been here over 20 years. I had the endless walleye with sides of steak fries and green beans. Stephanie recommend the Texas ketchup. I am so glad she did bc it went perfectly with the walleye and my appetizer of fried pickles! I also tried the twice baked potatoes.. fabulous! This is a BBQ place so for all you out there who love BBQ this is a place for you. Whiskey River is great food and good times. Come try it for yourself!
