Maxine's Restaurant

Just checking in and saying that this place is still absolutely fantastic.

We came here and got actually food for the first time, and it was amazing. We split the scallop with risotto, lobster ceviche, and the oysters. Oysters are extremely fresh, and the two main dishes were very tasty. I had eyed the scallop dish the past few times that I have come here and I'm happy that I finally got to have them.

The one thing I will say is that I'm bummed they no longer have the cheese and charcuterie board . . . that was always a great complement for the oysters, but hey it made us get the real food so maybe it was for the best!

We also sat at the bar for the first time, and really loved the bartender.

I don't know why the reviews are not so good this place was great! Food was delicious. Atmosphere astonishing. Waiting staff very helpful. Perfect place to take a date. Prices fair for the portions.

My wife and I ate here for dinner, I had the duck and she had schnitzel. The duck was ok, nothing to rave about. My wife was disappointed in her meal because the spetzel it came with was flavorless. Prices are fine. Service was ok, could be better, they were not busy at all.

Definitely not the best.
With an average sophisticated atmosphere and average tasting food, Maxine's isn't the top on my list. I had the privilege to try a max burger and although I will admit it satisfied my hunger, I've also tasted better. Overall, the service was pretty good, but the standard restaurant qualities didn't make it something to remember.
