Finest food, very friendly staff members, always fantastic character. They charge fair rates and the food quality is awesome. Kudos.
Tammy's is tucked away in a very accessible but hard-to-notice location in the heart of Downtown.
The pizza is absolutely *fantastic* — especially for such a little-known place. But pit it against popular flat-crust pizzas and I think you'll be surprised. It's a buttery and crispy thin crust which has won over a longtime traditional crust lover like myself. It has even become the preferred local pizza among my staff at Kenzie Academy.
They don't serve only pizza — offering a variety of other things. But the only other dish I've tried is the Gumbo, which they serve seasonally throughout the winter, and will (I believe) serve occasionally throughout the rest of the year. My wife and I are repeat customers for the Gumbo, as well as the pizza.
The owners are warm and neighborly. Let them know David from Kenzie Academy says "Hi!"
I was in town for a race and while my wife was running I ran in for pizza. I started with biscuits and gravy which was really good. Then as I was talking to Dave and Tammy the owners. They said they 75 different specialty pizzas. I had them make me one. It had spicy sausage and Italian beef w/ Alfredo sauce. The best pizza I’ve ever had. Great job ????????????????????????
Review for the Vegetarian pizza without onions. The thin crust has a cracker crunch on the bottom, and a soft texture inside. I thought the dry spicing on top would be bad,and overpowering, but it is not. Overall nothing is overdone or underdone. The pizza is different and well balanced. This is a good pie.
Be aware that she does typically close at 4pm! I wasn't 100% sure of this when I entered at 3:15pm and discovered that there were no more single slice pizzas available, but Tammy MORE than made up for my disappointment. This was my first time visiting so I was hesitant on ordering a full size pizza, but went ahead with it anyways! I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and OMG it was amazingggggggg. The flavors were perfect, the shredded chicken was moist, and had the right amount of kick! Perfect. And Tammy was very friendly and held light conversation with me since I was the only one in the restaurant. Absolutely will go back to try some of her more "interesting" flavors of pizza!
