Shapiro's Delicatessen at IND Airport

Gate B14, since no one else tells you where it is. Good pastrami, but expensive. Cookie not worth the money.

At breakfast time, this seemed like the best choice. Coffee is decent and self-serve so there’s no waiting for it. The egg and cheese bagel was OK, but the cheese is American slices and not real cheese, so it’s a bit overpriced. You expect to pay more at an airport, but for over $11 for coffee and a bagel sandwich, I’d like better cheese.

Family split 2 corned beef sandwiches on rye bread. As good as downtown location's. The right mustard, tender flavorful sliced stacked high corned beef, and that bread with the yummy chewy crust and soft center. A great way to start a trip! If you like Shapiro's, this is a slice of their fare. Shapiro's is THE GOLD STANDARD for corned beef sandwiches - if you buy a whole be prepared to eat half now and the other later, it is sooo thick you can barely fit your lips around a bite. Every time we go through the Indy Airport, this is tops on our list. Oh, and today the servers seemed genuinely polite and friendly which you don't always expect with airport restaurants. Shapiro's is a keeper!
