Food wasn’t bad for an Asian buffet, a bit pricey we thought for a buffet. Food selection was excellent, beef brisket, crab legs, shrimp, fish, sushi, salads and deserts. Too many choices to name here, they even have a grill. Plenty of seating choices inside, tables and very roomy booths available to choose from. We thought the food was ok, nothing special. And we both thought it was over priced, however they did have some higher end offerings such as brisket and crab legs. The buffet for us two was 79$ and change before tip. Cheaper prices during week for 21.99, 11-3:30 Mon-Fri. We may come back for that price maybe. But not worth the higher 36.99 per person, we didn’t think. Plenty of parking and handicap parking right in front. Worth a stop, but be warned sticker shock.
The food is so fresh! Literally my favorite restaurant in Indy now!!! The service is so nice, table is always cleared for us. Clean environment, love it! Third time coming this week!
Almost forgot to say, Amy and Susan served us and they were wonderful! The tone of voice they used, how they kept our table dirty plates free, and everything! If you want the best service find them!
So glad we came today! It’s a great place to try a variety of food and enjoy UNLIMITED bubble tea with your friend! I finally found the place that offers braised pork belly in a buffet! I mean, I am already amazed by the amount/variety of sushi they offer, plus fresh crabs, grilled shrimp, lamb, and pan seared salmon that melts in your mouth….. and they have duck and braised pork belly too?! THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. Side notes: bubble tea is just alright, don’t get your hopes up. It’s water mixed with cheap milk powder…. So not quite the same as what you would get from a Chinese bubble tea shop. Still, I appreciate they have it for the buffet.
Flavor diversity!
Decided to try Umi for dinner after they recently had their grand opening. To say they have options is an understatement. I walked in and instantly saw a whole sushi bar with various sushi options, both rolls and raw sushi. Not to mention the dozens of other cold and hot foods also available. They have a wide selection of meats, fog legs, lamb, and oxtail, to name a few of the exotics. They also have a lot of shellfish and shellfish dishes. They only issue was at the end of the meal when we tried to pay. We asked for our check three different times, and each time, our server proceeded to clean tables and not cash us out. I'm fully aware they just opened and were extremely busy. However, three times was annoying and fully avoidable. They will eventually find a grove and correct minor issues. I definitely recommend Umi for anyone wanting to try a wide variety of foods.
Finally it opens. Went for lunch, lots of variety, like the sushi the best. Japanese noodles, hot dishes, including crabs, short ribs and grilled; cold dishes including crab legs, crab clays and squids. Lots of choices. Soda /drink is included, also varieties of milk teas, lemon teas are available. Lunch is $22 for adult. Place is huge, service is good. The only downside is the smell /smoke of the grill section sometimes quite heavy. Still worth visit and recommended. Will certainly come back for lunch. Dinner is $37, might try that sometimes.
