Portillo's Hot Dogs

Great experience. It was very busy, but they work quickly and the food was good. I was pretty impressed with their salad too. Inexpensive, but well made and tasty. If you are in the neighborhood stop in you won't regret it!

The first time I went the food didn’t taste that fresh. The meat on the sandwich just tasted like it was laying around for awhile and it was a bit cold. The second I came it was much better. Ordered an Italian beef sandwich, dipped with hot and sweet peppers and cheese.

I'm mad at myself for not eating here sooner. I've passed by it dozens of times but never stopped by until now. As soon as I saw an Italian beef sandwich on the menu I knew I had to have it, and the second that the cashier asked me if I wanted it dry, wet, or dipped, I knew it was going to be authentic. Lots of people try to do Italian beef and get it very wrong, but I'm happy to say that it is a five-star sandwich that they serve here. Apparently they're famous for hotdogs, and while I haven't tried one yet, my friend who was with me ordered one and assures me that it's delicious and has "one hell of a snap!" Will definitely be going back, many, many times.

A wonderful addition to the south side! Such a wonderful retro, upbeat atmosphere, and the food is really good. The Italian beef sandwiches are great, and so are their burgers, salads, and for the love of food, PLEASE try the strawberry shortcake and choco eclair cake -- they are both addictive, and I'm not even an avid dessert person.

SERVICE is the name of the game here. They're very interested in the quality of your experience, which in a service industry is important. Try it -- I predict you'll become a regular patron.

What a fun place to eat. Lots of cool interesting things to look at. I would like to decorate my house away they decorated the restaurant. Although I probably wouldn't be able to fit a vehicle inside my home for the decor. Also you might be wondering is the food good? Well guess what, it is. And they have things like burgers hot dogs pasta and really good desserts. I like to eat desserts but because of that I weigh more than I should.
