The menu is superb and the food is to match. Every item makes you salivate and the taste more than satisfies. The chicken is crispy and juicy. The biscuits are light and full of flavor. The food is why you make the reservation. The drinks are NOT. While the cocktail menu appears delightful, the drinks do not live up to the description. An extensive whiskey menu saves the bat area, but if you are wanting a fun drink to accompany your foodie experience, you may be disappointed.

My husband and I went to try Root & Bone out last weekend for a celebration dinner. I can not wait to go back (made reservations for a few days from now, actually).

My husband grew up a few blocks from the building and remembers it being a run down furniture store. We were both super impressed with how they renovated it. The ambiance was right up my alley and it has a really cool open feel to it.

When we walked in, the host/hostess staff was wonderful and offered suggestions since it was our first time there (we took them up on their fried green tomato BLT app suggestion.... DELICIOUS).

Our waitress was great. I was originally going to go for the pork chop, but since I am pregnant and they do not cook the pork chop well done she steered me in the direction of the chicken pot pie. It took a lot of willpower to save room for the blueberry crumble dessert, which was not huge and overpowering, but definitely fresh and satisfied my sweet tooth.

I am so excited to go back soon (and I can't wait to come back when I'm not pregnant to try their cocktail menu). Reservations are a little difficult to come by if you don't nab them early, but the place is worth it. This is for sure a fantastic new gem on College Ave.

The wait staff was so amazing and nice. Always checked on us. The food came out quickly and the drinks were great. The food was great, the chicken sandwich’s for app was so good. And the pork chop was very delicious. Beware, has a little kick but the perfect amount. My wife had shrimp and grits and she could not stop talking about them. We will definitely be back. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Needs the bugs worked out. Our waiter was far from professional and attentive. He didn’t know where the local trout came from and did not know much about the wine selections. I imagine the training and kitchen flow is not fully worked out. We never were asked how our meal was and by the time he came around to check on us, we were finished. My observation was that the waiter to table ratio was off and not what I was expecting. The food was tasty and the interior and remodel of the space is wonderful.
Go early and avoid the crowd. The acoustics need improved as it was very loud.

Our party all enjoyed fabulous dinners at Root & Bone. The food was excellently prepared and presented. Our Seasonal Drinks were outstanding and dessert was so good - the ice cream sandwich ????. Our waitress, along with the rest of the staff were attentive and very helpful. She took the time to explain the menu and offered suggestions and checked in with us frequently, but not intrusively you see how we were enjoying our meal and to take drinks orders, etc. I am from the South and the collards were the best I have EVER tasted. The mac and cheese was perfect. For appetizers we ordered the drunken eggs (very good) and the chicken and biscuits (outstanding) and we loved the Our Brother cocktail - light and tasty. The dinners did not disappoint us. The meatloaf, chicken under a brick and shrimp and grits were outstanding. This is now our favorite restaurant - a true dining experience and right in the MK neighborhood - perfect! ????⭐️????⭐️????
