Great view

Read the reviews and was a bit hesitant about trying out the place. Much to our surprise we found really good food, good service and a real nice view. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs. Really good lunch experience.

I visited the marina office, bar and restaurant off season this February 2018 to see if I wanted to purchase a slip for my sailboat. The decision was hanging on how I liked the bar, bartender, the office, and the rooms. We also looked over all the available slips and ran into someone I knew.
All in all it was a very pleasant experience. The office took good care of us and answered all our questions. We took to the bar after looking over slips and had a few drinks drawing on the bartenders knowledge of the marina and boat parties. Later that night we continued to eat and drink meeting some nice people. Service seemed good for the people sitting at tables. I always sit at the bar. The service here was great. I read bad comments on service for any place and I think you cannot rate a place based on one server. They may not be a server very long and does not represent the place you are reviewing. We had a good time with the servers and I purchased a slip and will be regulars here for sometime to come. Food was great and we happen to choose their signature dish, pulled pork sliders. Fantantistic. The onion rings are hugh and crisp. Wish I took a picture of it. Got some of the great breakfast buffet the next morning. Rooms are beautiful too. Had a great lakeview from our room.

The coffee was fresh and the food was ok. Need more selections and lower prices for townies to come out for. Just to expensive and long drive for a luncheon outing. The waitress was great.

So I read the reviews about this place...and I went anyway. I'm glad I did! The service was prompt and friendly, and the food was hot and delicious. My wife ordered the nachos, and they were awesome. I had the catfish which was also very good. Add a drink special and a view of Monroe Lake, and you have the makings of a memorable lunch. I think the other reviews don't give this place the credit it deserves. It is, after all, a hotel restaurant/lounge (which in my mind implies a certain level of mediocrity), but it exceeded my expectations. We'd go back.

..by the way, I should add that we ate lunch here during a holiday weekend where there were TONS of people here. YMMV.
