Comfort at it's best. Everything is delish. Expect to leave here overstuffed. But be careful, the more food you add the more the pricey it becomes. Usually with 4 people, $65 is spent. But the money is worth it.
Not your standard cafeteria... Upscale food served cafeteria style in a well appointed dinning room. This restaurant has remained a consistently good restaurant for decades....
The cafeteria is hefty in size and quality. It is very Midwest homey feeling. They have fireplaces in many locations. The decor is all Grandma's House feeling with family pieces scattered around the walls for decor. The tables and chairs are good size. Don't worry about wimpy seats or bumping others.
Their pie and cake selection is awesome! I don't eat meat so I am pretty limited in my selections. I am very please with the taste of the choices I do get.
The staff are all very accommodating. The sweet young lady who waited on our table was great and never rushed us. We came here for my birthday. Both his and my family met for the first time so we stayed for about 2 hours.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND ????
Always great food and service. Don't get the peanut butter deserts though, they taste like peanut, not peanut butter. Not sure what's wrong with their recipes. Everything else was great. Only negative, they are very pricey for what you get. Granted it tastes home cooked/made from scratch but it's still a bit pricey.
Fantastic home cooking style food in a large buffet set up. This family restaurant has been going since the 40s and it can only have gotten better with age! The selection is astounding and the quality is top class. Roast beef, chicken noodles, baked fish, the choice is extensive, i recommend the lemon meringue pie! We had a family lunch of about 25 people, no need to reserve, our server, Amber, was friendly and attentive and the log fires make a great photo setting. 5* I'll definitely be back!
