Hilltop Family Restaurant

I always love frequenting this restaurant, for I never leave hungry. I am not the biggest fan of fried chicken, but I will eat theirs any day of the week. Plus, you can't go wrong on Friday nights, for it is prime rib night.

Looking for a place for "down home" cooking? Hilltop is our go-to place in the Bloomington area. Dishes served family-style, their specialty is the fried chicken. Meals include basic meat and three and a salad. Huge rolls served with apple butter accompany your plate. If you are visiting for weekend suppers, order your dessert early (popular: peanut butter pie) before they run out.

Beautiful place. Can be hard to find but I suggest you do. I've been here several times and while I'm sitting at my table I can look out the window and see rare birds, raccoons running all over the place and a gorgeous lake. The staff is amazing and they have a great little shop for great products. I've never been disappointed by the food and I suggest getting the fried chicken. Always clean inside and always served like a family member instead of a stranger. Love it..go there if you have the opportunity

I took my family here for a Sunday lunch because we wanted to travel a little bit. After driving an hour to get the place I was impressed with the views as you are on a really big hill. The food was great. I had the turkey dinner and it was great. Just an FYI they do serve family style.

Oh, my!! Gotta come back again! Took a group of 16 here. Service was perfect for our group size. To die for...... Fried Chicken, 1lb Ribye, Liver & Onions, Catfish, Perch and the Cobblers!! Family style Sides were delicious. No bland food here. Oh, did I mention the FRIED CHICKEN...... to die for!!
