Black Cat always meets my needs. The pizza and ice cream are great - especially, the House or Sausage & pepperoni. Ice Cream very good, too.
This is place would be exactly how my dream basement would be laid out. Its is an old school dive establishment and you can easily picture the place being jammed packed on a Friday or Saturday evening back when people actually got out of the house. The lanes are trashed with no oil or any smooth spots, so don't expect this place to be the spring board for a your professional career. Liberty Lanes in North Liberty and Black Cat Lanes, definitely my 2 favorite places to kill time. Please don't change anything here!
Alright. I'm about to go on about how awesome this place is. But, it has one failing. Just one, and I'll get it out of the way. The bowling lanes are garbage. I'm so sorry. Literally every other thing about this place is completely awesome. And, if you're just bowling with the kids, its fine. I guess. They weren't oiled and I'm not convinced they were flat.
HOWEVER. This place is wonderful. The building is gorgeous. They have an old-school ball return on the lanes that I just loved. The food is top notch and reasonably priced. They have a good selection of drinks in the bar. The staff is friendly. The neighborhood is cute. Like I said, literally everything else about this place is awesome and I highly recommend you try it. I went there for a company bowling party and was so impressed with the place that I went back the next day to have lunch.
Always Delicious. Got an Large EBA pizza which stands for Everything But Anchovies.
Sausage-Pepperoni-Mushroom-Ham-Onion-Green Pepper-Green Olive and Black Olive on a Hand Made Crust .
Always a Delicous Blend of Flavors Mingling on the palette in Such a way as to taste the ingredients as a whole and the individual flavors seperately.
Delicious.
The Crust maintain its integrity for a short time as the ingredients do hold some moisture. The Crust never really gets " soggy " but will be slightly more wet than I appreciate my breads to be . The total deliciousness of the pie does compensate for the one minor irritation.
