This place is a gem in South Bend. I’ve recently moved from Chicago and this is definitely the spot I’ll be frequenting in town. Chef Edward is always cooking up some incredible food, and you’re guaranteed to get a delicious drink and great story when Bob or Kelsey are behind the bar. The staff are so personable and the service is incredible. Can’t wait to stop in again.
So happy that this new and wonderful restaurant has opened in my neighborhood inside the old firehouse/theater. What a perfect addition to our historic neighborhood. It was so beautifully and lovingly restored by the owners, and the beautiful patio is so well-placed and welcoming. My family is vegetarian and our several experiences here so far have been very satisfying---very flavorful and creative offerings, refreshing cocktails made with wine/champagne, nice wine, craft beer, yummy desserts. I find it interesting and fun that the menu is not too big and changes daily. The staff works very hard and everyone is friendly. They are definitely finding their groove! The place has a very comfortable and casual vibe---we love it!
A little pricey but a great addition to the neighborhood and a delightful use of the old firehouse. It’s been done up very nicely inside and out. There are some very long wooden tables and small tables. The menu varies every week and uses some veggies from the garden across the street. As of yet they don’t have a liquor license so all the cocktails are made with beer, wine, or champagne which means they tend to be fun and refreshing.
Dogs are allowed on the outside patio.
This is some of the most delicious food I have had in South Bend, without paying Render / Cafe Navarre / LaSalle Grill prices. They have just opened and are understaffed, so I'm not rating them harshly on service. The food was worth waiting for. They were running out of some things at the end of the evening, as obviously they're still working on their logistics. We came as a group and tried many dinner menu items to share - the vegan curry was a favorite even among the carnivores. The goat cheese pear salad is excellent, as were the three desserts we tried. Very good cauliflower burger. Even the baked bean and slaw sides with the tacos were an experience. We also loved that we could walk there - just a lovely experience. Planning to go back for brunch.
