    So much food for $7! You get a pretty large sized salad, bowl of soup, sandwich, potato salad side, cookie, fruit, and rolls with jam for that price. Small, casual restaurant. Clean as well. Only complaints are no background music and timing could be a tad slower between courses. Otherwise, good value meal.

    Enjoyed a delicious, fresh, and well presented meal with gracious hosts. The pumpkin soup was wonderful and unique, like a hot pumpkin pie. Loved the sweet little extra touches like hot rolls and jam to start and fresh strawberries nestled with a tiny homebaked almond scone on my main dish as the perfect dessert. The setting is as beautiful as the food with lovely authentic antique furniture and surprises to discover throughout the restaurant. I definitely recommend the Buttery Shelf for a delightful lunch experience while in Lafayette.
