We visit here once a week. They have a vast array of board games, cheap table prices, and cheap and good food & drinks.
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about almost all games they have in their library.
Great environment. Good collection of games. Board game enthusiasts should definitely check it out and try out new games.
Such a fun place. $7 a person to play all the board games you want. The have a massive selection of fantastic games for all different group sizes and game types. Has a bar with food and great specialty drinks. Children are allowed outside of the bar area. Great staff. They can also help explain the games to you. They also have special events such as a Dnd night. Will absolutely come again.
We had an amazing time, absolutely loved it. Great hole-in-the-wall kind of shop. The game lists were extensive and the bowls of dice to choose from was a personal favorite. The menu was a edging towards higher prices like you might expect from going downtown, but the table itself is so cheap that it balances out. I split a ten dollar table (with access to all board games) with four people, so it was only a couple dollars each. The whole place has an atmosphere of a modern day fantasy tavern, without trying too hard. Multiple programs/special game nights (like DnD Tuesdays) that you should ask about on the website or in store. I've been warned Friday-Sunday are the bust days, but weekdays are perfect if you want low stress, low people games. Lots of quirks and in-jokes that I found very enjoyable, both in the decor and menu. Overall, 10/10.
Great food and great games! Make sure to check the hours they serve food though, you don't want to end up coming here wanting food just to find out they won't serve food for several hours. Their wide selection of games can satisfy anyone out there. Merlin's Beard has over 400 different board games, ranging from easy, 10 minute games to 4 hour, intense strategy games.
