The food was so delicious! We had a BLT and grilled chicken sandwich with french fries and onion rings. Everything was home made and cooked on the spot, nothing frozen or pre-cooked. The onion rings were the best I have ever had, hands down! The decor is very dated and old timey diner but DO NOT let that fool you! Every thing was clean and the service was very quick. The bathroom could use some updating but that is my only complaint. I will definately re-visit when we return to the area!
Great food and service. Come here hungry leave full. Will be back just so we can try other items on the menu.
Very nice cozy environment. Staff was wonderful and attentive, the food was fantastic. Inexpensive with good portion sizes. We will definitely be going back there!
I woke up this morning and thought I needed some homemade food to make my Saturday. I had heard good things about the small Eye Opener Café in Battleground. I noted from other reviewers that this establishment was cash-only. With reasonable prices, it is easy to eat well for under $10. I entered through a small storefront and seated myself. I ordered coffee, one blueberry pancake, and a single biscuit and gravy. The pancake was dense but fluffy and with just enough flavor. I really liked it. The biscuit was enormous and also fluffy. The gravy had a good consistency, but didn't have much sausage or flavor. A little more salt, pepper, or rendered sausage fat might have helped it really set off the biscuit. The coffee was average and served straight off the burner. Overall not a bad breakfast. Service was quick and a little terse, but they were very busy. A little out of the way from Lafayette, but altogether good food.
