Mukutan Ninja Charcoal Grill & Izakaya

Brought my family over for dinner because we all love Japanese food and wanted to try this new restaurant. I have to say I was pretty impressed to hear that it is owned by purdue students! Food was great and the service was very professional.

When I first stepped into this restaurant, I was like wow. I have never seen a place like this in town. It feels so authentic. I love the red lanterns going across the bar. It was lovely. I had chashu don, which is a soy marinated pork belly over rice.

Fantastic experience at this new Japanese bbq place in town. They have skewers grilled on charcoal which is absolutely amazing! I can also tell that they put a lot of effort in to the decorations. It was a great experience, will be back soon!

My friends have all been here before, and told me I have to come. If you like Japanese beer and Asian fusion food, this is the place to be near Purdue’s campus. I order the chicken dinner skewers and crispy dumplings as starters. Delicious

The decor is what stood out to me, it's very stylish and welcoming inside. A total transformation from the exterior. The food was by far the best thing that Mukutan has going for it. The katsu burgers are delicious and everything was seasoned very well. The fried chicken with curry is amazing. It'd be better with a little bit of heat but I was not disappointed at all. I am knocking a star off because of service. My wife received her food about 15 minutes before mine came out. Hers was cold by this time. The staff members were all very nice and there was no service issues there. This was our first visit and we overheard another server giving a discount to this table since it was their first time. We did not get any discount, but these are just small things. It's worth the price and trip. As things smooth out, the service should improve. I'm a Mukutan fan now!
