Chapala Family Mexican Restaurant

Good Mexican restaurant. Food was very good. But look out, their salsa is a bit on the hot side. Friendly staff.

Had the buffet here while I was passing through town. It just wasn't my favorite. The food was fine, it just didn't stand out to me.

Really good food. Especially loved their deep fried ice cream, though I think it was a little too sweet with chocolate sauce on top. Otherwise really good and fast service!

Second visit to Chapala, both visits were similar. Service was good, all of our meals were good, servings are large, good value, chips and salsa delivered to table as soon as we sat down. All food was served hot and fresh to the table. Only hit, such as it is, the margaritas are sweeter than we like.

Went to Waterloo for a weekend getaway, stopped here for lunch with my husband. The service was really good, staff is very friendly. I ordered the Chapala Burrito with shredded beef and my husband had the Chile Colorado (both pictured). Both dishes were so amazing. Wonderful flavors and so filling. Great deals on lunch specials. If we are in the area again we will definitely be returning!
