Candlelight Inn Restaurant - Clinton Iowa

Very very good food. Great service. Really enjoyed dining there and watching the river traffic.

Enjoyed perfectly cooked shrimp three ways and the local specialty Chicken George. It was very good but not amazing like all the locals made out to be. Lovely view of the mighty Mississippi.

Usually the wait isn't long. We were told 50 minutes after an hour and a half we asked and they said we would be next. We were a group of 4 and they took a group of 8 ahead of us that came long after us. I had to ask again when we would be seated and they said we just seated you. I said we are a group of 4 you sat a group of 8..The meal took forever to come out. We finally were out after 3 hours. The food wasn't as good. We even had to ask what happened to our order. My husband's seafood platter came out 15 minutes after ours and it was smaller portions than normal. Very unusual and I hope it doesn't continue to be this way. Will give another chance but this time sucked.

My family were all here celebrating our parents 50th anniversary dinner and we all loved the food (from chicken George, to salads, to mac and George, huge onion rings... ALL delicious!!) The service was friendly and very organized! We had such a fun and relaxing dinner...definitely recommend! Thank you for helping to make my parents' day special❤

This was my second visit and it was just as good as the first! We drive a bit over an hour to eat here. The food and atmosphere are wonderful and the views are awesome!!! I’ve been in the summer and it was relaxing just sitting on the deck for dinner watching the river. The winter is just as nice. They have a fireplace and you still have a great view of the river! It is a great place for a date night or a family dinner night. I would say the dress is nice casual. Obviously worth the drive for us. We will be heading back this spring and summer!
