Biscuits were good but a tad over baked. Overall consistent and good like always

This restaurant is in a small town and had that small town feel. The locals were hanging out having their morning breakfast and coffee as well as good conversation. Everyone was very nice and hospitable. Service was top notch and while the food was good, it was what you would expect. The atmosphere is what made this place a must visit.

Normally I have a great experience here, but yesterday was different. Ordered the 5 piece hand breaded chicken strips meal. Normally it takes about 10 minutes to get my food, but I almost headed back to the counter after about 20 minutes when I saw the lady bringing my food. I ate the fries first which were barely warm them went to the chicken. Cold! It was just barely over room temperature. I took them up to the counter and the lady that had a different shirt on, so I assume she was some sort of manager asked what I needed. I said these are cold. She looked at me and I said can you microwave these or something? She brightened up and said sure, then put them in the microwave. I couldn't believe she nuked them! Anyway I took them to my table and they were super hot so had to let them cool a bit. After they sat a couple minutes, they were now tough and not good enough for me to eat. Tossed them and headed out. I won't stop going for one bad day, but an employee should NEVER microwave returned food!! She should have offered to remake them.

We had a decent meal here several days ago, but we and another family waited for ten minutes at the counter this evening and no one ever came up front to take our orders. We could only see one employee in the back. Perhaps they were just short-staffed, but we were disappointed to leave without even being able to place an order.
