Blue Ribbon Cafe

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Didn't expect it to take over a half an hour to get our food. Especially since there was only 4 of us in the place. Eggs cooked perfectly. Bacon a little underdone. Other half had to send hers back as she doesn't like chewy bacon. Asked for hashbrowns to be cooked through and crispy. Came out completely white. Not hardly cooked at all. In a time crunch so couldn't send those back. Would give it another try but won't go out or my way to go there.

I got a sweet and sassy pulled pork melt. Pork was smoked but had no sauce on it so not sure how it was sweet and sassy but did have a slice of America cheese on it.

We ordered to go order tonight and the food was absolutely excellent. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the cheese balls were precisely cooked as well. Nothing was overcooked or undercooked. Kudos to the chef tonight!!!!

Took a nice motorcycle ride up here from Des Moines, a friend had talked about this place and I wanted to try it out. I had the Blue Ribbon 1/3 lb bacon cheeseburger with curly fries. What can say? It was very good! Was prepared quickly and the server was very friendly. Small town, small cafe, just like what you'd expect to find here in Iowa.
