The food at the Blank Angel was absolutely top notch. We had the hot fried chicken po-boy and it was incredible. The bread was amazing, the fry on the chicken was crispy and the meat succulent and well balanced with the sauce. We also had a benedict that was very good, with a delicious English's muffin and perfectly done eggs. Will definitely be returning.
The services was top notch, even after our late arrivals came to join us.
The star of the show was the food and drinks. The fall drinks were wonderful! The breakfast tacos, so good. We loved the side of fries so much we ordered more! So good!!! Definitely a 5 Star restaurant!!!
We ordered some mocktails to start since we don’t drink, and they actually did a fabulous job! Super good! The appetizer was also delightful. The local mushrooms on French bread with heavy cream—more like a gravy. Needed a little salt to make the flavor pop, but we enjoyed it. The entrees, on the other hand, were not great. Really heavy on the stomach. My husband got the double burger and I got the Memphis spicy po boy. The onions on the burger were really good. The fries weren’t super warm, but the flavor was pretty decent. The Caesar salad was alright too. Nothing to write home about. The po boy was huge, definitely not spicy, and lacked much flavor. The fried chicken on it tasted like the oil should have been replaced a while ago. The atmosphere is fun and the place is unique for sure, but the service was slow. Our server walked away more than once when we were trying to talk to her. She was much more attentive before it got busy, but not so much after. Overall, I’m glad we tried it.
Food is tasty and prepared well. Slim menu, which is always a good sign (I don't trust restaurants with huge menus). Po' boys are a good choice, as are the Perez tacos. Has the same problem as every other restaurant in town- not enough wait staff-so service is slow. Bar is well-stocked, bartender seems competent.
Went for brunch and was impressed with the Benedict, served on homemade English muffins and you could tell. The homemade hot sauce is also very flavorful and has plenty of kick. The libation was also spot on. Service was attentive, gave recommendations… all in all. A fine experience! Highly recommend!
