El Azul Mexican Market

This is a must visit grocery store with many Mexican foods available. It seems to be just the right size to offer a good variety of prepackaged options as well as fresh produce, homemade treats and even a small counter to buy prepared food from. The owners are a local couple with young children who often help out. Their passion for their business is very apparent from the meticulous way they stock the shelves themselves to their beaming smiles, that never waivered during an inspiring conversation I had with them while checking out. Not only is the selection good but the prices are reasonable and an added bonus is your money stays local!

Clean, well organized store with baked goods, a hot counter, fresh salsa and pico as well as a good selection of groceries. Nice staff as well.

I saw there was a brand New Mexican grocery in North Liberty and stopped in to check it out. This is their third day of being open. They have a little bit or everything. Candy, cookies, can goods, sodas as well as a meat counter and fresh produce. The owner was busy making tamales so I ordered a dozen. They had pork ones and a cheese and pepper one. I got both and they were very yummy.
I’m so glad to see them and I wish them the very best! I will be going back.
