(October 1, 2019, 2:40 am)This place was fabulous! They make all their corn tortillas in-house and their salsas are absolutely delicious. The chicken tinga tacos are awesome, as well as their salad and elotes. They also have a fantastic fruit mousse that is to die for! Service was excellent; I sat at the bar and Nate was very helpful in providing recommendations. Highly recommend this place for great Mexican food!

(September 3, 2019, 5:11 pm)Very nice Mexican restaurant. Small authentic tappas plates. Food was very good. Not really a place to take kids as they have a limited menu. Love the wood fire grill, ambience, and gluten free menu. Prices are a little high. Drinks were good.

(August 24, 2019, 6:23 am)New Mexican restaurant in Coralville. Yawn, right? But this place could be a keeper in time. Great atmosphere, terrific service, great cocktails. The Shrimp appetizer and fish entree suffered from an over-seasoning. The avocado taco was delightful surprise. There were many other great dishes. I will definitely give it La Vecina another try. And a shout out to the General Manager, who has been making a name for herself in the biz, and gave us the background on the place.
