Bogie's Steak House

Hands down best prime rib in the area. Only gets 4 stars because everything but the steak is mediocre. The salad bar is like one of those bags of salad you could get at the grocery. To get to 5 stars I’d recommend getting some good recipes for sides. With all of that said, I still eat here a few times a year because their steak is just that good.

Great steak and just enough food. Salad plate seemed small but once u finish the whole meal I'm so glad it was a small salad plate!

I hate to leave bad reviews but here goes. Been here several times in the last 20 years or so. Each time I swear I will not come back. I have yet to date received a steak that was cooked to order. Maybe it's just my luck. I think the place could do more business if they hired a professional chef to handle their food portion of the business and meals would be more desirable. But, it's up to them. They do serve huge portions if you are hungry.

This steakhouse is everything you want and expect from a locally owned restaurant. I ordered a ribeye, rare. It came to me cooked "perfectly"!
The one plate salad bar was quite enough and the side portions are very generous.
Bogie's serve very good moderately priced wine by the bottle. We had a 2016 J. Lohr that is a good consistent wine, vintage after vintage.
This was excellent customer experience so I give it very high marks for value, quality, and overall experience.

Being from the Kansas City area where barbeque and steaks are king, I was very pleased with the quality, size and taste of their prime rib steak. It was grilled to my request and again, the taste was exceptional. It was the best I have had in that area of Iowa. I will return.
