Cafe Dodici

Delicious food with a great atmosphere. I would recommend making the drive.

Cute, quaint spot. Located right downtown in Washington on the square, directly adjacent to the Cafe Dodici coffee shop. The menu is fairly large, two pages, comprised of traditional Italian dishes. The dishes themselves are straightforward, as opposed to creative takes on traditional favorites. This appeals to some, such as my stepfather, who likes well-made predictable food. Those who are looking for unique recipes, may want to choose a different restaurant. The cooking of the food is good, however, comparing the food to others I've tried in the same price category during my travels, I felt it was priced about 25% too high. We had three people with entrees, one dessert, and an afterdinner drink for around $125 with tip. There was unlimited bread and butter brought to the table for free prior to the meal which was a nice treat. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The staff and service are great, no complaints. They have a well-rounded dessert and afterdinner drinks menu, the coffees are delicious. I think if I were to come again, I'd get soup and salad with the free bread, dessert, and coffee and skip the entrees.

My only disappointment is that it took me so long to visit Cafe Dodici. The experience was wonderful. Exquisite decor, high end service, and great drinks. These put it over the top, but the substance is the food. The Lobster Ravioli had a subtle spice, and the charcuterie was ample and a delight. My wife and daughter said the chocolate cake was some of the best anywhere. Cafe Dodici s a special dining experience.

Friendly service, scrumptious food, delightful ambiance and amazing owners- Lorraine and Alessandro- make Café Dodici a special dining experience. Our family often celebrates special events here and are never disappointed. On a recent visit, we tried the special lasagna which we hope will become a regular menu item- truly outstanding! Great variety on the menu- from steaks, to pasta and vegetarian options. Their desserts are to die for so don’t miss out!

Great Italian restaurant in the middle of Iowa! The Dodici salad is excellent as are their gnocchi. Service is friendly and professional. Wine list is a little limited, but not unexpected. Try the smoked pork chop with basalmic glaze and feta! Perfectly cooked and exceptional! Great place for a family gathering.
