(November 4, 2020, 2:55 am)I am from out of town and wanted Mexican food. Monterrey Restaurant is conveniently located in a little strip mall adjacent to Walmart. The staff are very attentive and I was served promptly.
I ordered chicken fajitas for 14.95. I received a huge portion on a skillet with beans served on a side plate, but no sign of guacamole or sour cream in sight. Also the chicken needed just a tad more fajita seasoning, though still good. Also a tad more grilled 🌰 onion.
It was very, very good. However, it should be served with sour cream and guacamole for that price. The chips were light and crispy and the salsa great.
I come from south Texas and the beans seemed a little thick and bland. It could be they just serve them differently than I am used to in Texas. Sorry, but the beans tasted like they came out of a can.
