Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

My husband and I went there for dinner. We got our sampler but was waiting for our food. The waiter apologized for the wait due to the cooks getting bombarded with orders. He said that we would get 20% off our order which we were fine with paying for it all because things happen. When we told them we needed the food to go due to having to leave to go get our daughter they said they took care of the whole meal. We were not expecting that and gave the waiter a tip. That just made our night and they were very friendly and apologized again. I would recommend them not just for the food they serve but as well as making sure that we were satisfied.

There is something magical about a 24 hour diner. A cup of coffee, a breakfast at any time of day, the no-nonsense transaction of tasty American fare in a diner bustling with others working late at night, reading newspapers in the early morning or punk rock kids closing the night with some pancakes. Perkins is the place in Sioux City for such activity. Ample parking and menu, tasty and filling food with great prices. What more can you ask for except “excuse me Miss, may I have another cup of coffee?”

Good food. My service experience was not. Got seated and forgotten. Number of customers limited by Covid; still not good service. No water refill, eggs almost cold by the time I got my salt; server stopped several times to chat up other tables while getting the salt. Would've given a 1 or 2 star, but it was free pie day. That's worth one star.

The staff were very friendly. The food was fresh. We didn't have to wait to be seated and our portions were very large. This Perkins is located right across from the hard Rock casino and hotel and right by the event center in town. A car dealer ship on the corner. And 1 mile from Nebraska and 1 mile from South Dakota.
So cool...

This was my first time in Perkins in a while, and looked like they revamped the menu as well as the interior of the restaurant, and I will admit it is very, very nice! Waiter was friendly and did a great job, especially since it was a big group of us eating. Food was all very good with no complaints at all. Compared to what I remember from Perkins and my previous visits throughout the years, this visit was top notch!
