I get that this is a Sioux City tradition and has been around for generations. That having been said, if you haven't grown up here.... it's table-service pricing for fast food fare. I'm sure Tastee brings back warm fuzzy memories for a lot of locals, but for me without the nostalgia it was greasy and a little overpriced. If you try their famous onion petals and sauce (sauce costs extra) be prepared to shell out $10+ dollars a person. Better deal for similar fare and experience if you drive to Le Mars for Bob's.
Tastee is always good. Sioux City staple and long time favorite, but has become much more expensive though for loose meats through the years. Good fries and shakes, when I did not live here was always the first or second place we would hit.
Great classic food. A little pricey, but good loose meat sandwiches. The onion chips are excellent and better with the dip.
I miss the Tastee Inn & Out in Lincoln, Nebraska. I had to stop & try it. The food was hot and good! It definitely was worth the visit.
I remember years back when the sandwiches had a lot of meat in them and wasn't so expensive. I got six tiny sandwiches three fries and onion chip for 28 dollars I believe it was. It's not the same tastee as it used to be. For three people we could have had steak and potato. Unless somebody tells me it's changed I will not go back
