Good food and service. Would have been better if they had required people to wear masks and gloves at the buffet. Waitress even told a patron they didn't have to wear the mask. This won't work until businesses start to enforce it! Especially around FOOD!
More sanitary changes have been made in seating and in food serving. Food quality and service are both very good!
Great food. Reasonable price. Great service. An exquisite find for anyone valuing Chinese buffet.
King Buffet is truly the King of Chinese buffets in Lawrence, Kansas.
The sheer volume of options is impressive. There are 4 hot lines, 2 cold lines, a sushi bar, a designated soup + noodles area, and a completely different area devoted to cooked-to-order hibachi. There are even "kids" options like mac & cheese, cheesy potato bites, and garlic bread. No other Chinese buffet in Lawrence has this kind of variety.
Menu highlights include the sweet and savory steamed buns, walnut shrimp, salt and pepper squid, and crab rangoon. I've never tasted crab rangoon that was as delicious as those at King Buffet. The filling was savory/creamy and the casing was the perfect combination of flaky/fried/salty. Everything on the hot lines was 7/10 or better. There were very few things that I did not genuinely enjoy and I tried to taste everything during my first visit.
But alas, tasting everything King Buffet has to offer in a single sitting would be impossible. It's totally worth repeat trips. The restaurant itself is well lit and cleanly decorated. The staff is very professional. Finished plates never sat for more than a minute and my drink was never empty.
Can you really say anything bad about a Chinese buffet whose soundtrack includes the orchestral version of "Tale as old as Time" from Beauty and the Beast? I think not.
