Had super mixed experience... yelled at & hung up on by one employee but thankfully their supervisor was cool
Ordered via EatStreet. Missed a call 15min later, they left a message didn't have tuna for my order. Called back to cancel that part & asked out of sincere curiosity why it was listed as an option as wanted to understand if was a temporary shortage or discontinued ingredient that hadn't been updated (previously happened with them) etc & was told the store had nothing to do with the app & I'd have to contact EatStreet myself for a partial refund which I found frustrating & concerning but not as much as being told they'd called me as "just trying to help" as if I was unreasonable for trying to understand the problem then hung up on with no indication if I should expect my order to be delivered or what to do.
Worse, when I called back the *same* person answered & immediately yelled at me about "berating" them when don't feel I did & certainly never would want to. Asked to speak to their supervisor & was told they were a supervisor... fortunately they put someone more calm on the phone who very clearly & respectfully explained the situation (apparently tuna isn't a reliable protein option there which is strange IMO considering its shelf life but appreciate knowing this so can inform my future decisions to order or not) Unfortunately I was upset at this point & my irritation at being yelled at & treated like that led me to wanting to cancel.
The supervisor was very understanding & worked with me on a satisfactory solution which I really appreciated. I almost always only ask to speak to managers when want to ensure an employee gets credit for being awesome as know everyone has bad days but am still shocked how the 1st employee handled things & wanted to give their supervisor a shout out this time. Truly hope whatever the employee's going through gets better & if they get that heated again they step away from the phone next time.
Still took 45min+ after that call ended to be delivered though they'd said the order was ready except for the tuna replacement (tried falafel instead & was wonderful! Worried as autistic so extra sensitive to textures/tastes/etc & generally find falafel to be very hit or miss but this wasn't too dry or crumbly (though definitely nothing like tuna, lol) or spicy or anything & enjoyed it with romaine, pickles & cilantro FWIW) at the time so the pita that was supposed to be warm wasn't very (seems to be a common occurrence) but the 2nd person spoke to called me after I'd checked at 45min (to ensure there hadn't been another snafu, worried particularly about the wrong unit getting it since contactless delivery) plus let me know they'd contacted EatStreet as we'd discussed & wanted to ensure it was delivered (actually arrived during our call, lol)
Overall *really* like PitaPit's products (5 stars for that, only subtracting for unreliability of ingredients & the temperature of deliveries at least often being less than ideal due to wait times combined with packaging - still good, though, just frustrating as really like the combination of warm & cool things and the configuration makes it difficult to just reheat the warm things) & while the initial customer service interaction was rather disturbing (& wait time after everything honestly disappointing) the supervisor did their best to make up for it
RESPONSE TO OWNER (sorry, IDK how to reply to the comment on the mobile web) - it was yesterday from about 7:30pm-8:45pm but only specifying as hoping the 2nd person talked to gets appreciation for how they had to handle an upset customer & employee. While was surprised & upset at my original interaction honestly don't want to get anyone in trouble (though hope they're encouraged to not answer the phone when they're upset) Also, FWIW, I'm autistic & know sometimes that seems to lead to misinterpretations for both parties involved in communication. Thanks for the reply & offering Pita Pit's deliciousness to Lawrence, I'd eat there all the time if could afford it! (Prices seem fair but I'm poor, lol)
Excellent prices, specials, and food. Really great place for lunch. Love that they make everything fresh right in front of you.
The food is always tasty, and there is a pleasant variety of choices. I like being able to satisfy the person in my family who hates that most fast food has no vegetables without hearing complaints about "rabbit food" from the carnivores in my family. They can each get something flavorful and interesting to them. Me, I love the falafel pita here, and it is even delicious with no cheese or other dairy products on it.

Pita pit is better and load more healthier then subway! Love eating here ever time in I'm in Lawrence. I just wish one was closer to me in Kansas City ks
