This is, perhaps, the best breakfast spot in town. Maybe not as health conscious as First Watch, or as tasty as the Levee, but it is conveniently located on Mass street and provides lots of great breakfast options and wonderful coffee. I have always had a good meal there. If you are in the mood ( or the need) for a Bloody Mary, this is the spot for you!
Well... The staff IS great.. The food IS tasty... but good lord if I'm ordering potatoes as a side I expected a beautiful golden decent portion. Not the tiny cut up potato for $2. So if you want tasty food, good service and you're cool spending $$$ for several dishes to sate your hunger.
We were just passing through Lawrence for a night, and when I asked our Airbnb host for the best breakfast place she recommended the Roost. So glad we followed her advice! The interior has a warm, industrial vibe and the service was prompt and friendly. The food was amazing! We both got the French toast with eggs and bacon and a side of biscuits + gravy, and I recommend everything- it was all so delicious. We also got a few treats to-go: the salted dark chocolate brownie, cinnamon roll and homemade marshmallow, which were all very good!
The best of brunch. Incredible wait staff. The biscuits and gravy are a must have... You just see the tip of the iceberg when you get the B&G's... But you dig in and find a lot more in the gravy. SO GOOD. And bottomless self-serve coffee with options. Can't beat it!
Absolutely fabulous dining experience! We were in Lawrence for some business and decided to eat at a local restaurant. My wife read some reviews about The Roost, and we decided to give it a try. The environment was eclectic, but not pretentious. The food was prepared at an extremely elevated level. The ordinary became extraordinary. We ordered a lot of different things so that we could try as much as we could and take the rest home for leftovers. We were happy we made that decision. Everything was hot, and tasted fresh, made-to-order. Hats off to the roost.
